Malotira<\/b> Cretan mountain tea is also popularly known as Greek mountain tea. However, like Diktamos tea or Cistus tea based on the Cretan cistus (Cistus creticus) it is a type of tea that grows exclusively on the Greek island of Crete.<\/p>\n

Malotira is also called Syrian limbwort (Sideritis syriaca L) which belongs to the labiates family.<\/p>\n

Despite this name, this tea is a subspecies of its own, which grows exclusively on Crete. The branches with the yellow flowers are collected and then dried.<\/p>\n

Malotira is known for its beneficial properties and has a delicate and mild flavour, which brings notes of peppermint and cinnamon. Traditionally, it is refined with Cretan thyme-pine honey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
